I have worked for a dye company, Ellis & Everard (Anstead International) between the 3rd and the 21st July 1995. My employer there was M.V Hall. I worked in the quality control department, which involved checking the qualities of imported dyes for things like colour, chemical impurities and substance. Following analysis of each batch of dye I filled out a computerised form on the results. My work for Ellis & Everard gave me experience of responsibility, travelling to work, a close eye to detail and working with other people.
At a Beaver-scout centre in Wickford, Essex I have worked as a volunteer with other volunteers to supervise and organise activities for children. In school I have often helped teachers and other pupil in dealing with computer problems, and helping them use the computers more efficiently.
I have significant experience in the area of programming and program development. My skills in this area include proficiency in C/C++ and BASIC programming, beginner/intermediate skill in assembly language and intermediate skill in Java. I am becoming proficient in OOP and event-driven systems including GUI's, both in implementation and design. I also have fair experience in the use of html.
Programs I have developed include:
My word-processing and spread-sheeting skills are more than adequate to most applications. I also have some experience in the field of image processing. During my degree course I have worked on two group projects from which I have learnt a great deal about team working.
In school I have often helped teachers and other pupils in dealing with computer problems, and helping them use the computers more efficiently.
I have a strong interest in camping, which I used to do on a regular basis with friends in the local fields. In my free time I like walking and group orienteering. My sports interests include playing badminton, and I also like to swim on a regular basis. Boating with an uncle is another interest of mine that led me onto writing software for GPS units.
